Caring for Your Dogs Like Family

It all started back in grad school when Covid hit and I suddenly had way too much free time. What better solution than… getting a puppy?! That’s when Milo came into my life — my hiking king, road trip buddy, and partner-in-adventure. We even took a cross-country road trip together! Now at 5 years old, he’s a little more laid-back and prefers sunbathing like the king he is.

Fast forward to 2022 — I met Mitch, we moved in together, and (no surprise here) I convinced him we needed another dog. Enter Willow, our sweet rescue from a foster program. She quickly stole our hearts… and then, at the end of 2024, she tore her ACL and needed surgery. To help cover the cost, I started Rover — and before we knew it, we had fallen in love with hosting and meeting so many amazing pups.

And just like that, the idea for Barker’s Paradise was born! The name was inspired by Mitch’s last name, Barker — the perfect fit for a doggy dream come true. Now, we get to spend our days surrounded by wagging tails, happy paws, and the best furry friends a couple could ask for.
